"Initial impression - ludlowthompson was the second estate agency that we stopped into when we started the sales process. We met Paul right away and he came to view the flat within the hour. He was informative and friendly and gave me a sense of confidence right away. It was an easy decision to give Paul the responsibility to sell our flat.
Viewings - I was impressed at how quickly Paul got viewings sorted out for our flat. We had 14 in the first two weeks and had accepted an offer on the last one. Paul was really good at giving me updates after the viewings and letting me know how things were going.
Right balance - Once the offer was accepted, the long process of completing the sale began. It felt as though ours went on for quite a while. I was impressed at Paul's balance of staying in touch but keeping a bit of distance at the same time. He was always there when I called and reached out to me from time to time to check on certain things or just to see how I was doing in regards to the sale. I think it is a tricky thing to get right, and Paul did this superbly.
Supportive & Informative - I was quite nervous about the sale, largely due to the fact that I was leaving the country at the end of April. Paul was very supportive whenever I called or stopped in. He always made time to answer my questions and fill me in on any information that he had. One great example of this was that the buyer wanted to come into the flat and check the appliances. Paul had let me know about this on the Friday which gave us time to clean the flat on the weekend (we had boxes everywhere!). When he called again on Monday to see if it was ok for him to bring the buyer to the flat, there were no worries about the buyer seeing a flat stuffed full of partially packed boxes.
Beyond the call of duty - I was working out of town through the majority of the sales process. The Friday after the offer was accepted I got a call from the freeholder to say that there was a leak coming from my flat into the shop below. I was in Chester and there was no way that I could get home as quick as I needed to. I called Paul in a panic and he was out on a viewing but called one of his colleagues, Aman, who was able to run over and check on things right away. Aman saved some of my autographed Arsenal photos which had water running behind them. Paul got there soon after and they were able to let me know that the leak was coming from above. We were able to get in touch with my upstairs neighbour and he got a plumber out quickly. Without Paul and Aman's quick action and support the situation could have been much, much worse.
I stopped in the next morning and Paul and I called the buyer to explain the situation. We had a good chat and let the buyer select the new colour for when the walls were repainted. I was impressed how Paul explained the situation to the buyer, making it clear what had happened but at the same time reassured him. He arranged to take the buyer to the property early the next week to view the damage and make sure he was still happy to continue.
Overall I found Paul to be extremely professional, friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. I would recommend Paul without hesitation to anyone who was looking to sell a property and would come to him if I was interested in buying a property in the future."
