Often confused with the borough Haringey, Harringay is a lively area based around its main strip, Green Lanes. It is known for its large Turkish population, and its wide variety of local food shops and kebab restaurants.

Running directly off Greens Lanes are the residential streets, collectively known as the 'Ladder', with predominantly Victorian terraced housing.
Shopping & Entertainment
Towards the south end of Harringay there is a retail park with a large supermarket and other big-name stores. Along the main strip of Greens Lanes there are predominantly locally-run shops. There is a wide range of inexpensive restaurants and take-aways, and good quality bakers and green grocers.
It is possible to park on all the streets of the 'ladder' with pay-and-display, although residents will need to apply for a permit.

Harringay is located between Manor House and Turnpike Lane stations, but with no tube station in the centre of the area it can be a relatively long walk to either of them. However, it has good bus links, as well as Harringay Green Lanes overground station.
