A very suburban London with roads lined with 1930s style family houses. A recent development of high-end apartments has radically changed the area, specifically the demolition of all the medium-rise council blocks of the Ferrier Estate.
-
Property Types & Architecture
A good stock of mid war semis and detached family homes in addition to a number of large council estates. The largest development is now the Berkeley Homes waterside developments, set on the grounds of the demolished council estate some years ago. The apartments are set amongst well-landscaped grounds, with a natural lake forming a major feature.
-
Shopping & Entertainment
Blackheath Village is the main shopping centre.
As a predominantly suburban housing area, there is very little in the way of restaurants and bars. -
Parks & Commons
The main open spaces are in and around Blackheath. The recent development of apartments are very well landscaped with a large space (adjoining Sutcliffe Park) for running, walking the dog and cycling, all around a very attractive natural lake.
