Kilburn is an area sandwiched between the sought after Queen's Park, Maida Vale and West Hampstead districts. Towards the south of the area are mainly large Victorian red brick homes many of which have been converted into apartments. The west is similar but with tall Victorian terraces and spacious mansion blocks. The area around Kilburn High Road mainly consists of small terraces and some modern purpose built apartment blocks.

Kilburn High Road is a main thoroughfare and its here most of the areas shops, bars, restaurants and no less than 3 railway stations can be found. The surrounding areas of Queen's Park and West Hampstead are also home to upmarket bars, restaurants and boutiques. Kilburn is home to The Tricycle Theatre, a renowned arts centre which includes a gallery, cinema and theatre. Look to the south and you can't miss the Gothic spire of St. Augustine's Church, completed in 1880 by the architect John Loughborough Pearson, the church has an ornate Victorian interior.

Kilburn Grange is adjacent to Kilburn High Road and offers tennis courts and a children's play area. Queen's Park, which covers an area of approximately 30 acres boasts 6 all weather tennis courts, a pitch and putt course, petanque green, children's play area with a paddling pool, a children's farm and a cafe
Nearby, Paddington Recreation Ground also offers a fantastic range of sports and activities for all ages on its 27 acre site in Maida Vale.
