Virtual headsets just one of the predicted set of new tools provided by estate agents
The property sector is set to further embrace the use of technology allowing estate agents to help buyers find their perfect property with a newly emerging prop-tech sector set to be fully functioning by 2025.
Estate agents in the 2020s are being forecast to have a range of high-tech, innovative search tools at their fingertips. These newer tools will enhance those specialist tools already in use by estate agents.
It will soon be possible to view a house without even stepping inside. Estate agents will be able to give their prospective homebuyers headsets and gloves to step into a ‘virtual explorium’. Using 3D 360-degree cameras and virtual reality gloves, homebuyers will be able to explore and even feel a potential home.
This virtual reality will even allow home buyers to see what a potential new property would look like with their furniture in place and can even virtually paint a room.
Estate agents are also set to have access to remote controlled drones that will offer buyers a unique sense of the area. For example, drones can allow buyers to test how noisy the area is at night or look at areas of the house that you wouldn’t usually see at a viewing.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman at ludlowthompson, says: “Estate agents will embrace newer technology as they have in the past to continue offering a bespoke and tailored service to their clients.”
“Prospective homebuyers, renters, sellers, and landlords will all continue to benefit from estate agents' 'bricks and clicks' offering, combining traditional advice from our offices as well as the latest technology to achieve the best possible deal for their clients.”
"Increased technology enhances the ability to search for properties, but clients will always be advised to view the property in person."
