New Overground Night Service to operate between Dalston and New Cross, just in time for Christmas
Please see below for ludlowthompson's opening hours over the seasonal holidays: Over the seaonsal holidays, ludlowthompson stays open and accessible for our clients, recognising that this down time is often used to make future property decisions. London’s transport system is continuously improving, and this year has seen a plethora of new ‘always on’ transport initiatives – which is great news for potential tenants across the city.
The latest is that ahead of the Christmas festivities, the London Overground Night Service has been extended on weekend nights into the early hours, between New Cross Gate and Dalston Junction.
There are plans also for the Night Service to be extended to run between New Cross Gate and Highbury & Islington next year.
Last December the Night Tube expanded to include the Jubilee, Victoria and Central Lines, and earlier this year more of the Northern Line, after Charing Cross underground station reopened in July.
Night Service trains greatly expand tenants’ choice of rental properties across more locations without having to compromise on accessibility into the centre. Key demographics in the rental market, from students to professionals and even young families can benefit from a quick commute, whilst not missing out on access to the capital’s employment market and vibrant nightlife.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman at ludlowthompson, says: “The night tube adds significantly to the demand for properties near these tube lines amongst a key demographic in the rental market and to potential tenants who may not have considered them before.”
“The popularity of the service shows how important accessibility is for tenants when they are looking to rent. Big infrastructure changes such as the Crossrail and Cycle Superhighways help them enjoy the full range of what London has to offer.”
“It’s great that the Overground service will be extended just in time for the Christmas festivities.”
Over Christmas, there will be no Transport for London services on Christmas Day, and some transport will finish early on Christmas Eve. But, there will be free travel all night on the TfL network on New Year's Eve.
