Huge savings to be made by buyers – just from crossing the Thames

Pimlico to Vauxhall and Fulham to Tooting are just two examples of where crossing the river could substantially reduce prices
Along the banks of the River Thames, London's main artery, lie some of the capitals most sought-after areas. Consequently, those looking to live in areas adjacent to the Thames may expect to face a high premium. However, there are places along the river where a quick hop from one side to the other can save home buyers thousands of pounds on their purchase.
Despite often being just a short walk from their northern counterpart, properties on the southern side of the Thames allow buyers to find large savings, relative to the north. However, this gap is slowly closing following large scale regeneration across South London.
Pimlico to Vauxhall and Fulham to Tooting are just a handful of locations that offer wildly different prices, despite being just separated by the Thames.
For example, a modern, lower ground floor, two-bedroom flat, with a stunning private garden in Vauxhall is on the market for £625,000. Across the river in Pimlico is a similar two-bedroom apartment with private garden for sale at £950,000, 52% higher than the Vauxhall property.
It is a similar story when you compare properties in West London, where an immaculately presented Edwardian house in Tooting Bec is currently on the market for £850,000. Whilst a comparable house in Fulham is on the market for £1,175,000, 38% more expensive.
