Can I meet prospective tenants before I agree to them moving in?
If you would like to meet prospective tenants before they move in then this can usually be arranged. Effective communication is often key to a stress-free tenancy and IF you are going to be dealing directly with the tenants it can be a good idea to sit down and talk things through before the move-in date! However, don't assume that meeting the tenants is enough to gauge their suitability, it is important to ensure you understand the background to a tenants application too, thorough reference checking is important to gain comfort in their appropriateness as tenants for your property.
You should however consider, particularly where you have employed an agent to manage your tenancy for you, whether meeting the tenants would confuse the arrangement going forward. If you have instructed an ARLA Propertymark registered agent you should be able to gain confidence in the suitability of the tenants, requesting to see referencing information rather than ' meeting' face to face, is often a less biased way to gain comfort on the suitability of the tenant.
You can gain comfort on this given ludlowthompson's ARLA Propertymark membership, that we'll find suitable quality tenants to live in your property! Our thorough referencing process including credit check, income references, identity verification and affordability checks, plus more and will give you the peace of mind you need when starting out with a new tenancy.
