Rise of flexitime and working from home means fast broadband speeds are essential


There are a lot of considerations to make when buying a home but one that continues to move up buyer’s checklists is internet speed. The growth in the popularity of working from home has made broadband speeds key when searching for a property.

Due to the growing number of people working from home apps such as Skype, and Facetime have become essential to many businesses. Therefore, internet speeds have also grown in importance for many when choosing where to live.

Data from ISPreview found that 54.7% of people would reject an ideal house if it couldn’t deliver their desired speed. This percentage is likely to only increase over time as millennials increasingly look to get onto the property ladder.

When house hunting, it is important that buyers should not discount a property just due to its internet, as it is important to look at the future potential for faster broadband. In many areas across London there are impending plans to update the infrastructure.
