Office is built to twist in order to catch the sun at all times - no demand reported yet in rainy UK.
You may have felt the room is spinning after a few too many drinks. However, a home in Tehran has been built to twist in order for the family to catch the sun or simply reflect their changing moods.
Sharifi-ha House, designed by leading architect Alireza Taghaboni, features seven floors and three rotating rooms that pivot 90 degrees, much like a theatre, at just the push of a button.
On sunny days, wide windows can be turned towards the sunshine. On more overcast days the rooms can be turned for a more subdued atmosphere.
Alireza Taghaboni explains the project is based on ancient Iranian homes which had both Summer and Winter rooms in order to get the best out of all seasons.
The property cost around three million euros to build, with only one seventh of the total cost being used for the rotating rooms.
Although we’re not sure we’d need rotating rooms to catch the sun in UK with all it's rainy weather, it could still be an interesting addition to any home.
