Heightened tenant demand as new Night Overground service connects more thriving neighbourhoods 24/7 at weekends
Inner North London’s appeal as a desirable hotspot for renters keeps on growing. Applicant numbers for rental properties for the beginning of 2018 at our Finsbury Park office were up a massive 38% on the same time last year – well above the 22% increase we saw across the capital as a whole.
The attraction is not surprising, as more prospective tenants are attracted by the area’s good quality properties, vibrant social scene, and excellent transport links.
And those transport links have just got better. The Night Overground service has arrived at Highbury & Islington and Canonbury stations, bringing “always-on” travel to the area with 24-hour access at weekends.
This means that not only will North and South London be connected round the clock from New Cross Gate, it will also allow Londoners to link up to the Victoria and Jubilee lines any time of the day or night on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as night bus routes.
With single pay as you go fares frozen until 2020, there’s much for the area’s tenants and prospective renters to smile about.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman at ludlowthompson, says: “Good transport links are a critical consideration for tenants, cutting their commute times to work and making it easier to enjoy all the capital’s social scene has to offer.”
“The continued expansion of Night Tube and Overground services will provide a real boom in interest to this central part of North London, making it more sought-after than ever.”
