Businessman from Lancashire entrusting pet fish to choose the winner of competition for £675,000 house.
Dave Mackie, 49, is offering his luxury home as the prize of an online sudoku competition.
The insurance broker is receiving a maximum of 14,000 entries, each paying an entry fee of £50, from which the winner will be chosen.
The puzzle fan will let his pet Koi Carp choose the winner, by placing a touch sensitive pad in the pond.
"As well as being beautiful and majestic creatures, koi have an aura about them and are very perceptive and sensitive to what is going on around them", stated Mackie.
He hopes that his Koi will choose a good winner who will look after the fish when he moves out.
"They are the ideal symbols of love and friendship and I have no doubt they will pick the right winner someone who will get on with the neighbours and someone who will look after the fish themselves."
I have no doubt they will pick the right winner.
