ludlowthompson raised over £15,000 for partner charities in 2018
For over two decades ludlowthompson has been on a mission to support charities that tackle related issues and we encourage participation in our local communities. Over the past year, ludlowthompson staff have participated in a range of activities to support charities including Centrepoint, The Children’s Literacy Charity, and St Basils.
Events have included Sleep Outs, art festivals and a marathon. Take a look below at some of the charity events that occurred this year…
In March, ludlowthompson donated £1,100 to The Children’s Literacy Charity. The funds will help underachieving children catch up on their literacy levels, so that they can reach their full potential at school and in later life.
In April, Stephen Ludlow, his son George and long-term family friend William Legge successfully completed the London Marathon in an average time of 5 hours 36 minutes. Overall the team raised nearly £4,000 in support of Centrepoint.
The following month brought Mental Health Awareness Week, which began on the 14th May. The week highlighted the work that our partner charity Centrepoint does for homeless young people.
At the end of summer, ludlowthompson sponsored the annual St Michael’s Arts Festival in Stockwell. The event brought together City professionals, entrepreneurs, artists and journalists and it was great to sponsor an event which showcased the area’s creative talents.
The pinnacle event for ludlowthompson staff took part in our annual popular “Sleep Outs” which take place in November, the Centrepoint Sleep Out in North Greenwich and the St Basils Sleep Out outside Birmingham Cathedral. In total the two events raised over £13,700.
As well as the Sleep Outs in November, ludlowthompson also organised a five aside football tournament in support of World Aids Day for Tackle Africa. ludlowthompson fielded two teams captained by Stephen Graham and Mark Williamson while David Thompson and Stephen Ludlow managed a team each. Both teams made the finals, one in the Plate Final and one in the Cup Final.
In December, one of our final events of the year was sponsoring the St Anne’s Primary School Christmas fair for the second year in a row. ludlowthompson’s donation helped promote the fair and fund prizes for the raffle.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman at ludlowthompson, says: “A huge congratulations must go to all the ludlowthompson staff members that took part in the wide variety of initiatives to help large national and smaller local charities.”
“Whether it’s a sponsored run, playing in a football match, participating in a Sleep Out, or promoting the arts and local school fairs it’s great to see so many ludlowthompson members getting involved with our partner charities.”
