On average, high street agents transact properties for more than the original estimated value
If you are looking to transact on your property this year, recent research suggests that choosing to sell through a high street estate agent is much more fruitful than doing so online only.
A study from the HomeOwners Alliance (HOA) reveals the benefits of using a high street agent over an online property service.
The HOA says that the top 1,000 high street agents were able to sell properties at 100.35% of their estimated value. The study also found that high street agents sold 82% of all properties listed with them, compared to online agents, which managed a success rate of just over 50%.
Along with the figures, it is important to remember the many other benefits of high street agents, including detailed local area knowledge, face to face contact, in-depth assessments of your property, and established success of serving clients as well as regulated procedures particularly in respect of holding client’s funds.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman at ludlowthompson comments: “The benefits of using high street agents are reinforced and clearly backed by these statistics.”
“Established high street agents are generally able to deliver maximum price for the property in that given market by using personal interaction to drive competition, supporting the evidence that there is true value in choosing real-life people over a computer screen.”
“Homeowners shouldn’t be enticed by low signing on fees as it costs nothing to instruct a regulated high street agent who has access to the most successful, tried and trusted web platforms on the market today- put simply this is too big a decision to leave to chance.”
