What was borne out of necessity during lockdown, is likely to remain in place even when restrictions are fully eased. As the seller, you need to ensure you are giving buyers the opportunity to visualize the home as their own by making it feel inviting and warm even through a virtual medium.
- It is necessary to de-clutter: treat a virtual viewing recording as you would an ‘in-person’ viewing. You do not want to distract the prospective virtual buyer from the important features you want them to notice. Removing clutter will help accentuate the space, making it appear larger.
- The same rules apply for any outdoor areas – make sure that lawns are kept neat and tidy, with toys cleared away and garden furniture arranged in an orderly fashion.
- Make sure the kitchen and bathrooms are cleaned top to bottom, and the windows are clean and clear for the ‘view from the window’.
- Open up doors to all rooms and let the light flood in by pulling back curtains and blinds, and if it’s a dreary day turn on the lights.
