Get a new perspective of your neighbourhood - support your local cinema for the BFI London Film Festival.
The London Film Festival is famous for promoting new and innovative filmmakers, as well as classic and unseen films of the past.
For two weeks each year it brings together a variety of locations, celebrating the difference and diversity of London's local cinematic traditions.
Among screenings at the recently-renovated NFT, and the star-studded premiers in Leicester Square, the event gives light to some of London's smaller venues.
This year its 18 locations include:
- David Lean Cinema, Croydon Clocktower
- Genesis, Whitechapel
- Greenwich Picture House
- The Phoenix, East Finchley
- Rich Mix, Bethnal Green Road
- Rio, Dalston Kingsland
- Ritzy, Brixton
- The Tricycle, Kilburn
- Waterman's, Hounslow
If you are South of the river, The Ritzy in Brixton is a vibrant place for film, food and music. One to look out for this year is the BFI screening of Rachid Bouchareb's 'London River', giving 'matter-of-fact' London locations', and unstereotypical accounts of life in the capital.
