Transport improvements help open up new residential areas of London
Research from the Institute for Public Policy Research shows that London is receiving on average more than twice as much public transport spending per capita than the UK average over the last 10 years.
London has received on average £739 per capita each year on public transport spending, compared to the UK average of £368 per capita.
Transport infrastructure, is a key influence over a residential area’s attractiveness, and indeed prices, so that investment in London is good news for capital and for those areas getting the most transport funding.
The Elizabeth line, for example, is set for completion soon.
The Elizabeth line will help to open up new areas for Londoners to live and commute into the City from Acton and Southall in the West, and Ilford and Woolwich in the East.
Buyers in London will also benefit from the planned building of High Speed 2 no matter whether HS2 stops at Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester.
Acton is set to benefit most from this project as the only planned interchange between HS2 and the Elizabeth line, is set to see 40,000 new homes, a reinvigorated high street and two major new university campuses.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman at ludlowthompson, says: “Major investment in London’s transport network is great news for those looking to buy in London.”
“Transport links are one of the major factors buyers consider before purchasing a property.”
“Properties in areas with proposed transport hubs have already seen considerable rises in the value of their property. Now may be a good time to buy and hopefully see property values increase further.”

“Emma was really helpful and was one of the few estate agents we were in contact with who actually sent us relevant properties for our budget and preferences. She was also authentic and personable when showing us properties and not too pushy, allowing us to make our own decisions whilst answering our questions and providing all the information we needed. We've ended up putting in an offer with another estate agent in a different area, but if looking again in this area we would definitely contact Emma.”
Jake Hitchman via google reviews:
“I have had the pleasure of dealing with Elizabeth in the search for a new property in London. She has provided me with incredible service, assisting my search throughout. She is available to answer my queries when needed and provides a great deal of attention to my requirements and specifications. Her communication skills are perfect, and I am yet to have received a better service elsewhere. Would definitely recommend!”
