ludlowthompson raise £800 by rowing over 800 metres in annual charity race in Worcester
For a second year in a row, ludlowthompson participate in Worcester’s annual event: The Severn ‘Dragon Boat Race’.
In a hugely enjoyable day, 18 members of our staff took part in a boat race to raise money for chosen charity, Centrepoint.
Each crew contained 18 participants, 16 paddlers, one drummer and one spare in a race of approximately 800 metres.
This year ludlowthompson finished 21st out of 39 teams, a great achievement by our staff, especially as most had never ‘dragon boat paddled ‘before.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman at ludlowthompson, commented: "Once again, I am incredibly proud of all the fundraising efforts by ludlowthompson staff members.
"The race was a challenge and some got a tad wet but the entire day was fantastic.
"Centrepoint is a tremendous charity that works really hard in reducing homelessness amongst young people in our London streets and we at ludlowthompson will continue to do all we can to help support the great cause.
"In the last two years we’ve raised £2,200 for Centrepoint in this race alone, and our staff are eager to take part again next year."
Since ludlowthompson started its association with Centrepoint we have raised over £100,000.
