Proactive residents organise Gardening Day to help with London’s sustainability efforts

Coinciding with the start of the Chelsea Flower Show, green-fingered residents in Vauxhall were busy with their own gardening plans.

One initiative, the Richbourne Terrace Gardening Day, encouraged local residents to get involved earlier this month. Members of the community got together to replace grassed beds with rosemary and lavender, in order to be more sustainable. 

Ludlowthompson was delighted to support residents with purchasing new plants. In addition to the environmental benefits, maintaining and replanting efforts like this can help improve the aesthetic appeal of an area.

Tree planting and greenery can be a key selling point for properties on the market. Londoners keen to escape hectic inner-city life are likely to favour more green areas, so any tree planting and gardening work is likely to encourage prospective buyers into the area.  

Oval and Vauxhall already has many great parks which attract both visitors and new homeowners into the area. Green events such as these enhance the area’s vibrancy and attractiveness to homebuyers keen for more picturesque outdoor space. 

Greenery across London is in sharp focus with the Chelsea Flower Show this week. The event has highlighted the creativity and ingenuity of gardeners in London and provided inspiration for many others to get creative themselves.
