London hosted numerous charitable efforts this winter, showing the very best of its local communities
Once again, the parts of London in which we operate illustrated the great strength of its local communities with numerous charitable and fundraising efforts this year, supporting local schoolchildren and the homeless.
Communities are an integral part of the attractions of local property markets. The jubilant community spirit and charm of so many parts of London continues to attract many new buyers into the capital.
We were delighted to support some brilliant community events during this Winter. In doing so, we continued our close relationships with many organisations that are the lifeblood of their local area.
This November, we supported homelessness charity Centrepoint by joining its ‘Sleep Out’ event. Members of the ludlowthompson team slept out on a cold winter’s evening to gain an insight into the plight the UK’s homeless go through each night and raise funds for the charity. This is the 18th year we have supported Centrepoint, which aims to end youth homelessness by 2037. We were delighted to raise £7,923 for the charity, which was 10% above our original target.
We were also delighted to support three events from our local schools this December. Earlier this month, there was Christmas fun at Stockwell Primary School, where local residents came together for live music, food, gifts, attractions and a raffle. Santa also made a visit, as he took some time out of his busy schedule at this time of the year to meet local schoolchildren.
Also in December, we were proud to support Goodrich Community Primary School in Dulwich, which held a Winter Trail for parents and children to enjoy. Ludlowthompson also supported Sellincourt Primary School in Tooting with their Winter Fayre, which provided yet more Christmas fun for its local residents.
In total, more than £2,500 was donated to local schools. We were also happy to help put up hundreds of boards around the area to promote these fun and worthwhile events.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman at ludlowthompson says, “Local communities across London are such a vital part of the capital. We are always proud to support their efforts to bring a smile to local residents and raise money for very worthy causes.”
“London’s local communities ensure that the capital continues to prosper. This is why it remains such a sought-after area for buyers and renters. Each year, London goes from strength to strength and there are many reasons why next year will be equally as exciting for the city.”
“We’re looking forward to the opportunities 2023 will bring to support our community partners in making London such a terrific place to live.”

I have just finished a lettings process through ludlowthompson and throughout the entire process the team has been extremely helpful. It was my first rental in London and I had many concerns, but they responded very quickly and reassured me of the entire process. I asked a lot of questions but they never lost patience and always explained everything to me with the most thoughtful care and patience.

A big thank you to the ludlowthompson team who showed me a flat. They made sure to show and tell me all the details about the house and made a video before I arrived so I could share it with my wife who couldn’t attend the viewing. It was a very smooth service and I would definitely recommend ludlowthompson.
