Latest research shows why sellers should be making the most of the festive boost in website enquiries
Many may not think of trying to move home over the busy festive period, but new research shows that in fact, estate agent website traffic reaches an all-time high over Christmas Day and Boxing day.
The new year before and Christmas period are prime time for buying enquiries. For example, the ValPal network reported 82,000 valuation leads over the 2017/18 winter period, in Q4 2017 the Land Registry reported the second highest number of completions, and Rightmove received 18 million visits to its site between Christmas and the first working day of the new year.
With this in mind, to get the best deals for a move in the New Year, vendors should start listing their properties now. This will allow them to take full advantage of the rush of applicants looking to buy from now until Christmas.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman at ludlowthompson, says: “It’s important that sellers list their property now to make the most of the increase in website traffic over the Christmas period, which really opens up some great opportunities.”
“One of the reasons why now is such a popular time for buyers to browse properties online is because hardworking families and young professionals tend to be winding down for Christmas, and have more time to browse properties and plan for the future.”
“There tend to be fewer properties for sale around this time, so it can be an opportune time to list. It’s a great idea for sellers to list as soon as possible in order to make the most of buyers looking for properties early.”
“We at ludlowthompson are in the best position to help you take advantage of the seasonal boost in the sales market. Our goal is to deliver maximum performance for our clients through combining traditional, local knowledge, with online property retail.”

“I was fortunate to have Kirsty, the manager helping me selling my property. She is very professional and no support is ever too much trouble for her. Not only did I manage to sell my property in a short space of time, but she has also patiently helped me with the paper work from various processes. Not to forget to mention Georgina, who is also very professional and gave me a helping hand on my paper work, and various advice. I like to say thank you to both for such a wonderful experience.”

“Highly recommend Kirsty and her team at the Oval office. From the outset Kirsty has been incredibly supportive through a difficult sale and has been on hand each step of the way. Her knowledge of the area, market & experience of complex issues that invariably arise unexpectedly make her and the team stand apart from all other agents. I would also highly recommend Adam who is really professional, trustworthy and mediated between all parties to make it happen. Thank you!”
