Wrapping up a sale before Christmas

Opportunities exist to complete a house sale quickly as some buyers want to be in by Christmas.
With the festive season approaching vendors can take advantage of the opportunity to complete a quick sale.
Many parties are keen to push through deals before Christmas, and completion dates are often being brought forward. Additionally, as homes in London sell faster than in other parts of the country there is no reason to wait until January to offer them for sale.
Properties that are listed on the market in November and December can generate a great deal of interest, particularly in London. With traditionally fewer properties put on the market than at other times of year, winter listings benefit from a scarcity value.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman of ludlowthompson, explains: “The run up to Christmas is seen by some as a slower period in the property market, but that is not always true.
“While some potential purchasers may be out Christmas shopping others are eager to start the New Year in a new home.
“London property is in high demand all year round. We get enquiries at ludlowthompson during the entire winter period, and see sellers achieving extremely good valuations throughout.”
