Like the best parts of London it's a bit rough around the edges, but with a good atmosphere and a great bet for a few bargains. An area with great potential, especially since the arrival of the DLR station. Value for money is still very much apparent with a wealth of good Victorian properties to choose from, plus an increase in new builds over the past few years, located near to the station.

Lewisham Shopping Centre sits in the middle of the town centre and has a good selection of shops however big changes are in the pipeline for the town centre with a huge multi-million pound regeneration programme currently under construction. The nearby world famous Royal Borough of Greenwich has a huge array of bistros, gastro pubs, restaurants, cinemas, museums, theatres, and boutiques. The Glass Mill Leisure Centre in Loampit Vale has a 25-metre, eight-lane swimming pool, a learner pool, an indoor climbing wall and gym.
Parks & Commons
The Waterlink Way, a seven-mile walking and cycling route from Sydenham to Greenwich following the Ravensbourne River crosses two parks in the area - Ladywell Fields boasting a skatepark, bowling green, football pitch, ball courts and a cafe and Brookmill Park. Lewisham Park in the town centre has a children’s playground, and Manor House Gardens, nearer Lee, has a walled flower garden, a lake and café. Greenwich Park and the expansive open heath at Blackheath are also a huge attraction to anyone in the area.

Lewisham is seven miles south-east of central London and its conservation areas are a real draw for families looking to move up the property ladder. Many buyers begin their search in the nearby pricier Blackheath or Greenwich and soon come to realise that more can be bought for their money in Lewisham. Young professionals are also drawn to the area, partly due to the best transport network available in South East London. The station offers a mainline service to London Bridge, Charing Cross, Victoria and Waterloo East, all of which can be reached within approximately 12 minutes, The station also has a DLR service, which connects with the Jubilee line, making Canary Wharf accessible in about 10 minutes.
