Rightmove says visits are up 9% on this time last year
House-hunters have already been quick off the mark with their property searches year and in doing and are getting 2018 off to a promising start for vendors.
Rightmove reports seeing a 9% increase in visits in January compared to the same time last year – suggesting real appetite among buyers.
With more buyers out there looking, and good mortgage deals available, this is an ideal time for prospective sellers looking to trade up to put their property on the market.
Many will find themselves in a strong position if they do so. Recent figures show that one in three sellers in London in 2017 sold their property for twice what they paid for it almost nine years ago.
In order to achieve the maximum price, however, using an experienced agent with good local knowledge as well as extensive reach is key. The recent ranking of online agent Purplebricks as the “worst rated agency 2017” by customer review website allAgents should give pause for thought about how much value for money online-only services really provide.
