ludlowthompson's track record of supporting charities and young people continues as Centrepoint delivers unique mental health programmes
#MentalHealthAwarenessWeek took place last month, beginning on the 14th May, focussing on stress and represents a good opportunity to highlight the work that the charity Centrepoint does for homeless young people.
ludlowthompson is a proud supporter of Centrepoint and their range of support services for young people who are often shut out of other health services.
Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity and supports 16-25 year olds by providing housing, healthcare, and education in important life skills. They support more than 9,200 homeless young people a year with almost a third under the age of 18.
Almost half of the young people Centrepoint works with have a mental health issue, as homelessness can have a huge effect on mental health. Centrepoint provides them with unique, tailored support.
ludlowthompson has a proud tradition of supporting Centrepoint. In 2017 alone we raised over £20,000 for Centrepoint, most notably through the ‘sleep rough for charity’ event where we raised £10,800!
More recently, ludlowthompson team members on April 22nd, including chairman Stephen Ludlow, who raised nearly £4,000 for the charity by completing the London Marathon in the sweltering heat.
Stephen Ludlow, chairman at ludlowthompson, says: “ludlowthompson has long supported the vital work that Centrepoint does in helping to address such a worthy cause as youth homelessness.”
“It is both impressive and rewarding to see Centrepoint move from the provision of housing alone to a holistic programme of education and employment for young people. Now, with this new publically stated ambition surrounding mental health and wellbeing, it confirms again why we support such a worthy cause.”
