Marking a decade of sleep out events to raise money and focus awareness on London’s young homeless people
Following last year’s success where we raised close to £11,000, 23 members of staff are participating in the Centrepoint Annual Sleep Out again. It is taking place on November 15 in North Greenwich where a number of companies will also be participating.
While the Sleep Out doesn’t aim to reproduce exactly what it is like to be homeless, it aims to highlight some of the issues faced by homeless young people such as: the cold, the discomfort and the difficulty of facing the next day with very little sleep.
Centrepoint provides accommodation and support to homeless people in between 16 and 25 years of age. The sleep out is part of a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the problems young homeless people face.
Stephen Ludlow, Chairman of ludlowthompson, added: “ludlowthompson is pleased to be taking part in the Annual Sleep Out once again. The Sleep Out is a unique opportunity to both raise money and awareness for a worthwhile cause whilst also giving people a small insight into what it’s really like to sleep rough”
“Centrepoint is an extremely worthwhile cause and every penny counts towards helping young, homeless individuals – especially at this time of year.”
