New research shows the holiday period is a key time of year when prospective buyers look for available homes on the market
With Christmas just around the corner, vendors should move fast if they want to list their properties for what can be a peak time for property website searches.
In fact when we discussed this topic in last month’s newsletter, it proved to be one of the most popular of the entire year!
Vendors may think that there is a lull in the interest in property over the Christmas holiday period to the New Year, but that is far from the truth.
In fact estate agent website traffic peaks at that time. Indeed, new research from Rightmove shows they received 18 million visits to its site last Christmas.
Combine this increased web traffic with the fact that there tend to be fewer properties for sale around in this period, then those vendors who do list have a very large audience and could achieve excellent deals.
This coming year could be particularly intriguing, with buyers countering the Brexit uncertainty and, indeed, leveraging on it by accessing attractive mortgage products and committing to puchases sooner.
